Appeal after insecure load leads to injury |
||
|
We are appealing for information after a car towing a trailer spilled its contents on to the road in Stone recently. A black Ford, with a pink sticker in the rear window, was towing an insecure large quantity of wood on Newcastle Road at around 8.15am on Saturday 25 April, when the vehicle shed its load. Approximately 30 wooden boards, measuring around 8ft by 4ft, were shed into the road at the junction of Crown Street and Newcastle Street. A man stopped to help the driver and passenger of the vehicle move the boards, but as the driver attempted to resecure the load into the trailer, a board was dropped on the man’s foot. The man, in his 40s, suffered a broken foot that will require surgery. We are keen to speak to the driver in relation to inconsiderate and careless driving. We are appealing for anyone who saw what happened or who may have relevant information or dashcam footage to get in touch. Call us on 101 or use Live Chat on our website quoting incident number 755 of 29 April. To report anonymously, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. | ||
